First go the ASSISTment website and click on the Sign up link. ASSISTment is completely free, so all you have to do is fill out this page and you are ready to go!

  • Note: The ASSISTment team does not share your personal information and usage data with anyone. We do, however, use it to conduct research on learning science in an effort to improve the site and student learning in general. This research data is anonymized so as to be non-identifying. We appreciate your cooperation and your contribution to the learning sciences.

If you already have an account, click on the Log In link at the top of the page to log in.

  1. The first thing you need to do is select your user role from the drop-down box: image:iamabox.jpg
  2. Select Teacher from the drop-down menu.

  3. Then select your school from the drop-down menu to the right. image:selectschool.jpg
  • Note:If your school is not in the list, it has not yet been created in ASSISTment, and you must do this yourself.
  1. Click on the image:createanewone.jpg link next to image:can'tfindyourschool.jpg.
  2. Fill out the name of the school and select your distrcit from the dropdown menu.

  • Note: If your district is not in the list, you must create this as well.
  1. Click on the image:can'tfindyourdistrict.jpg link and enter the name of your district and select the state from the dropdown menu.

  2. After you are done, click image:savebutton.jpg, and your school and district will now appear in the list.


After you have selected your school, you will be prompted for the following information:

  • Display Name - This will be the name that students see. We suggest using whatever you have your students address you as in class, such as "Mr. Smith".
  • Email - This is mandatory as it will be used as your login. The ASSISTment system sends reports on student activity to this address as well.
  • First, Middle, and Last Name - If you do not want to put your first name, you can simply put your title (Mr., Ms.), and if you don't have a middle name, you can leave it blank.
  • Time Zone - If you are on the East Coast, leave this field alone.
  • Password - Enter a password, and then re-enter it in the second box to confirm.


Then click the image:signupbutton.jpg button.

If all goes well, you will be brought to the Account page, which contains instructions on how to begin. If you missed a field, ASSISTment will prompt you to fix it before proceeding.
