Questions With Tutoring

  • If a student uses the tutoring ("Hint" or "Break this Problem Into Steps"), the question will be marked incorrect
  • Students will know immediately if they answered the question correctly
  • If a student is unable to figure out the problem on his or her own, the last hint will give the student the answer

Questions Without Tutoring

  • Students will not know if they answered the question correctly. It is the same as taking a test.

Skill Builders

  • Questions are based on one specific skill
  • Students must answer three questions correct in a row to complete the assignment
  • If a student uses the tutoring ("Hint" or "Break this Problem Into Steps"), the question will be marked incorrect
  • Students will know immediately if they answered the question correctly
  • If a student is unable to figure out the problem on his or her own, the last hint will give the student the answer

Reassessment and Relearning (optional feature)

  • After students complete skill builder assignments, ASSISTments automatically creates and assigns a reassessment test based on the completed skills
    • If the student gets the question correct on the reassessment test, the skill will be tested again on a future reassessment test
    • If the student gets the question incorrect on the reassessment test, the student must go back a relearn the skill by getting three questions correct in a row on the skill builder


Essay Questions

  • Questions that the student must explain their answer in an essay form
  • Teachers can grade the student responses on-line
  • Teachers can also assign essay critiques for students to grade their peer's work
