WPI gives the service away for free. Many people ask us why?.

Recent Funding

  • Our newest funder is EDUCAUSE through the Next Generation Learning Challenges(NGLC). The primary funders behind the NGLC are the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Hewlett Foundation.
  • NSF gives another $700,000 to WPI. Everyone wants a high school drop out predictor; we are creating a "losing" interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) predictor. See here.
  • NSF funds with $700,000 Professor Joe Beck to refine the ARRS system. DRL-1109483

Pending Funding

  • The Office of Naval Research informed UMASS and WPI that our proposal for “Building an Effective and Efficient OPEN Tutor Platform for Multiple Populations” is going to be funded. Its not official yet.
  • The US Dept of Education is looking at funding a 3.5 million dollar efficacy grant. The PI disinterred research team doing the study as SRI.
  • The "Evaluate Web Pages" Project is an example of a interesting new research angle we can now do.
