Craig Mason, Director of the Center for Research and Evaluation will be leading an $8 million Math and Science Partnership Grant proposal to the National Science Foundation.

In coordination with the University of Maine's certificate program on Data Driven Instruction, the team of researchers from WPI and University of Maine are submitting an $8 million NSF grant to the Math Science Partnership (MSP) competition due March 5, 2012. Our proposal will use ASSISTments as the core of a project that features data-driven instruction in the STEM areas. Our specific application will focus on Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics and will be submitted in conjunction with partner institutions. We would very much like to talk with other potential partners who would like to be involved with this project.

We are looking for schools to be our partners. Schools that are interested in this effort should: 1) Email Craig Mason at UMaine that you are interested - <craig.mason@maine.edu>. Let him know what data driven work you would like to see support for. 2) And send him a copy of a letter of support similar to the one listed here. Please edit it to reflect your school.

Interested schools can also come to a meeting at 2PM on the day of the full day orientation effects. Craig Mason and Neil Heffernan will help explain this next grant, as well as talk about the current $3.5 million grant we are just starting. To register go to the Phase One Web page.

We are looking for schools to partner in this $8 million NSF MSP proposal due March 5, 2012.

The grant will leverage a grant that WPI and the University of Maine are already getting from the US Dept of Education.
