Formative Assessment Cycle or Plan for Next Year
(1) Begin the school year with our "modified" Problem of the Day routine. The modified routine will be:
- Give students a graphic organizer that provides a place to show written work each day for their in-class Problem of the Day
- Take students to the computer lab each Friday to complete the modified Problem of the Day problem set that correlates with that week's daily Problem of the Day
- Students will be allowed to refer back to their graphic organizer while completing the problem set.
- Students will be expected to show all of their work for the problem set.
- Use the "Data Driven" feature to re-assign the problem set as homework for any students that earns less than 100%.
- Add NRich links to each Friday Problem of the Day problem set.
(2) Finish building mid-chapter reviews and chapter practice tests for Pre-Algebra students from Glenco McGraw-Hill Pre-Algebra text.
(3) Build homework assignments for Pre-Algebra students from Glenco McGraw-Hill Pre-Algebra text.
(4) Add files and links to our ASSISTments and Problem Sets.
(5) Work with remedial math teachers to utilize AARS in Math 2 classes.
(6) Create benchmark tests to be given four times per school year.
(7) Tag questions by skill.
