Formative Assessment or Plan for Next Year

(1) Start the 2011-2012 school year with the Problem of the Day routine established and modified during the 2010-2011 school year.

  • Each class begins with an MCAS Problem of the Day.
  • The answer and associated work will be recorded using a teacher-designed graphic organizer.
  • 1/2 of each class period on Fridays will be spent in the Computer Lab re-doing modified Problem of the Day questions (with ASSISTments hints).
  • Students scoring less than 100% in the lab on Friday will be re-assigned the problem set for homework over the weekend.
  • Add NRich enrichment links to homework Problem of the Day assignments.

(2) Continue to enter Mid-Chapter Review and Chapter Practice Test assesments in ASSISTments for the Glencoe McGraw-Hill Pre-Algebra text.

(3) Build homework assignments for the Glencoe McGraw-Hill Pre-Algebra text.

(4) Add files and links to our ASSISTment problem sets.

(5) Work with remedial math teachers to incorporate AARS for students.

(6) Add Benchmark Tests in ASSISTments.
