Evaluation Tools Description
1) WEEKLY FELLOW LOG- This is due at the end of each week. Cris will review these weekly logs each and every Saturday evening (as if she has nothing better to do!). We recently updated these to get the exact kind of data we need.
2) MONTHLY MENTORING LOG- Each month you are expected to fill out this form documenting your work to improve your instruction. This form details your meetings with a teacher in which you identify and discuss the state of your instruction. While these meetings should be ongoing occurrences, you will complete only one form about one such meeting per month. Be sure to take good notes when de-briefing with your teacher as you will need to upload their comments. Also, if you are working with multiple teachers please rotate among these teachers. That is, get your mentoring from different teachers each month.
3) EXEMPLARY TEACHING LOG- By the end of each semester you will complete a description of one lesson that you have delivered. This log should include a link to an edited video of your lesson that details the issues you write about in the report. This will serve as the primary artifact in the evaluation dealing with your instruction and instructional improvement. Plan on completing one prior to December break and the second before mid-March. Remember that you have been asked to conduct on lesson on content (e.g., math) and the other on career (e.g., being a computer programmer).
4) SITE VISITS- Each semester the evaluation team will make a site visit. The visit will include classroom observations and interviews.
5) WPI MATH COURSE- Data will be collected on the WPI Math course that PIMSE teachers volunteer to take.
6) LONGITUDINAL FOLLOW UP- Interviews will be conducted with Fellow and teacher alumni of the PIMSE project.
